NEW CANEY, TX (April 6, 2026) – The Trails, a rapidly-growing community of new homes located off the Grand Parkway at Plum Grove Road (28827 Cross Pines Drive), will welcome visitors for the return of “Taste of The Trails” set for Saturday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Free and open to the public, Taste of The Trails offers families the opportunity to explore five fully decorated model homes while enjoying a series of interactive experiences designed to bring each home – and the community – to life.
From refreshing frozen Dr. Pepper creations in Lennar’s model to a nostalgic retro magnet experience in Chesmar Homes’ model, each stop along the tour delivers a unique and memorable moment.
Visitors strolling through the Westin Homes model will be greeted by the sounds of a live saxophone performance, while two Coventry Homes models will feature a backyard petting zoo and a vibrant sunflower display.
Nearby, the community’s Caterpillar Park will host a farmers market, complimentary picnic-style lunch and live music. Guests also can register to win a $1,000 Target gift card and other giveaways.

With new homes priced from the upper $200s and convenient access to the Grand Parkway, The Trails continues to attract first-time and value-minded buyers, with its initial phase now approximately 90 percent built out. Plans for a second phase of new homes will be announced in the coming weeks.
Elsewhere in the community, construction is underway on a five-acre Amenity Campus. Scheduled to open later this year, the resident-only venue will feature a clubhouse, resort-style pool with a connected lap pool, children’s splash pad and playground, outdoor event space for concerts and community gatherings, and shaded seating areas.
In addition, Fidelis Realty Partners has acquired 33 acres for a future large-format retail shopping center at the northeast corner of Plum Grove Road and the Grand Parkway.
The Trails features approximately 600 acres of contiguous, undeveloped land dedicated to nature trails and outdoor recreation. Land also has been reserved for a proposed on-site school.
